There were once more sheep than people when the enclosure movement and clearance brought commercial sheep farming in. While nowadays, there are less and less sheep been herded around Caithness and Sutherland. In most cases, sheep-famers take sheep not as the way to make benefits but rather a tradition to carry on. Sheep Shearing, as a traditional event hold once a year, plays an important role in sheep farming, as well as shaping a camaraderie event with the whole generation.
