​"A friend once told me the reason he loves landscape shooting is that 'landscape existed before people, and they witnessed everything without judgement', the idea of this inspires me during projects. I enjoy taking photos of landscape as well as of people I encountered. And I found the experiences of meeting people help shaping the way my project moving forward and the view I'm observing the world. But can I witness the world without judgement through my lens? I'm afraid I could not be that neutral, the composition I made, the moments I chose, the judgements been already made."

Tianyi was born and raised in Beijing. She graduated in 2011 from MA Photojournalism in the University of Westminster in London. She is now based in Beijing and London.
